ALARDE is an energy services company highly specialized in the development and operation of power plants from renewable energy sources and cogeneration.

These projects are characterized by their high energy output and considerable environmental benefits.

The highly qualified team of experts making up the company has ample experience in this sector, achieving outstanding results in its work while in charge of the IDAE’s Cogeneration Department in 1984-1994 and, more recently, in 1994, when it founded ACCIONA’s Energy Area, managing its expansion until the second half of 2004.

During more than 20 years, this team of experts has built or comprehensively managed and launched, cogeneration facilities and wind plants with a generating capacity totaling 771 MW, while developing an additional 657 MW. All these projects had very different characteristics, which has allowed ALARDE to place at the investor’s/client’s disposal its solid knowledge of these projects from a wide variety of perspectives: technical, contractual, financial, corporate, the legal framework to be applied, etc.

ALARDE Sociedad de Energía, S.A. was founded in February 2005 and enjoys solid backing from the financial entities CAIXANOVA and BANCO GALLEGO, which, apart from being ALARDE’s majority shareholders, are the principal investors in the projects promoted by this company and thus able to act as agents to ensure the external financing of investments.

ALARDE is currently managing in Galicia a Business Wind Plan called GALENOVA, with a total capacity of 96 MW, whose rights belong to EÓLICA GALENOVA — a company owned by CAIXANOVA and BANCO GALLEGO. Likewise, following an open tendering process, conducted by the autonomous government of Galicia in June 2008, in December of the same year, EÓLICA GALENOVA emerged as the most successful bidder obtaining the rights to develop 235 MW of wind energy projects. ALARDE will be responsible for the development of these wind plants and will also manage the relevant industrial plan and economic development projects.

Additionally, in 2007 and 2008 ALARDE developed 4 solar plants with a total capacity of 6.3 MW and is currently responsible for the follow-up and operation of a total of 56 100 kW-photovoltaic plants.

As to providing third-party services, ALARDE, among other things, has given advice and acted as a consultant on different wind energy projects with a total capacity of 200 MW, managed the extension of a cogeneration plant (from 5 to12 MW), acted as a Project Owner’s Representative for the successful development of a project to build 10 MW photovoltaic installations, and conducted different due diligence activities, or technical audits, for financial entities.
